PhD Student
My research topic generally focuses on the psychopathology of addictions (substance use like alcohol and smoking, and behavioral addiction like gaming disorder), the neuro-cognitive underpinning of addictions (mainly via event-related potential studies), and their behavioral interventions (like cognitive bias modification, ABC-training).
I joined the lab in 2021 as a PhD candidate. Supervised by Reinout Wiers and Helle Larsen, my PhD project centers on developing and testing behavioral interventions for addictions, via both RCTs studies in clinical samples and proof-of-principal studies in healthy volunteers. Specifically, we tested the effectiveness of cognitive bias modification (CBM) on drinking and smoking populations. Based on conventional CBM, we then developed an improved version of CBM that integrates inferential theories called ABC-training and tested its effectiveness in community and clinical samples.
